PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling a braking force of a vehicle, which can improve the braking force. SOLUTION: In a conventional apparatus for controlling the braking force of the vehicle, there are cases where the improvement of the braking force is impossible when an operation of the Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) control for preventing the locking of the rear wheels overlaps with an operation of a parking brake. For example, when the parking brake is operated during running of the vehicle, the occurrence of the slip of wheels causes the EBD control to be carried out and may prevent the yield of a sufficient braking force. The present apparatus for controlling the braking force of the vehicle judges the condition for permitting the start of the EBD control, and detects the operation of the parking brake PKB. When the start of the EBD control has been permitted and the operation of the parking brake has been detected, the EBD control is forbidden. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
