摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate setting of an opposing length of a gradient magnetic field coil to a specified value in a magnet device and a magnetic resonance imaging system. SOLUTION: The magnet device is equipped with; a joining column part 5 which forms a space 7 keeping a space 8 of a uniform magnetostatic field generated by a first main magnet 1 and a second main magnet 3, between a first cryostat 2 and a second cryostat 4; a first gradient magnetic field coil 211 which is mounted outside of the first cryostat and corresponding to the first main magnet; a second gradient magnetic field coil 212 which makes the uniform magnetostatic field an arbitrary gradient magnetic field, in cooperation with the first gradient coil mounted outside of the second cryostat and corresponding to the second main magnet; and a setting part 26 existing between the first and second gradient magnetic field coils in the space, which sets the opposing length between the opposing first and second gradient coils to the prescribed length.
