PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the reduction in the display area of an image is prevented even during inputting of a large amount of character information, the liquid crystal display panel of a limited size can be effectively utilized and input operation can be improved by widening the area of an input section. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a casing 2, the liquid crystal display panel 3 which is attached to the casing 2, the liquid crystal display panel 4 which is disposed on the front surface of the casing 2 opposite to the liquid crystal display panel 3, and a touch panel 5 which is mounted on the display surface of the liquid crystal display panel 4. The liquid crystal display device is moved between a first state that the liquid crystal display panels 3 and 4 are superposed and are housed into the casing 2 and a second state that the liquid crystal display panel 4 is moved to the outside of the casing 2 so as to be parted from the liquid crystal display panel 3 and to expose the liquid crystal display panel 3.
