PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse a collected ink cartridge with a high quality by setting to a memory means an area for storing data related to a use history of the ink cartridge reloadably when the ink cartridge has the memory means storing data related to ink. SOLUTION: In an ink cartridge 10 for use in an ink-jet recording apparatus, an upper face of a container 11 storing a porous body impregnated with ink is sealed by a lid body 12. An ink feed opening 13 to be air-tightly engaged with an ink feed needle when the ink cartridge is loaded to a carriage is formed to a bottom face of the container. A circuit board 30 is fixed to one side face of the container 11. A semiconductor memory means is accessibly mounted to a rear face of the circuit board 30. Data related to a use history of the ink cartridge is stored reloadably in the semiconductor memory means 32, in addition to fixed data such as a production year, month, day, a duration of life, the number of times whereby the ink cartridge can be regenerated and the like. An ink cartridge regeneration process is thus carried out properly. |
