Polyurethane foams for insulating pipes

Polyurethane systems including an isocyanate component and a polyol mixture containing a polyol of hydroxy number above 70 mg KOH/g optionally together with catalysts and/or chemical foaming agents are such that the polyol mixture has a DIN 53019 viscosity below 3000 mPas at 20[deg]C. An independent claim is also included for production of insulated pipes by (1) arranging a pipe inside a mantle; (2) filling the space between the pipe and mantle with the above polyurethane system; and (3) foaming and hardening the system.
