The stacking prop (3) for a folding table has a bearing for a pivot axis (6) rotationally fixed to the folding foot (5). A gear drive has cams connected to it for movement of the foot between a position perpendicular to the work surface and a position parallel to it. The cams are mounted in bearings on each side.
