<p>The method for processing seismic data forms a difference 2 between two sets of measured seismic data 1 representing a physical system in two separate states, for example at two different times. The difference is then processed 5 in accordance with a parameterised model 3, 4 of the physical system to obtain changes 6, 7 in the parameters of the model. The processing may be a least squares inversion or a Bayesian inversion. The solution may involve a posterior expectation or a posterior covariance and the changes in the parameters may follow Gaussian statistics. The method is useful for monitoring hydrocarbon gas and oil reservoirs.</p> |
