PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time being elapsed before focal point control of a camera. SOLUTION: Eight (=23) photodiodes 1-8 arranged in one row are compared sequentially with an intermediate point as a boundary. Since the number of times for comparing the quantity of received light is decreased significantly from seven times to three times, the time being elapsed after light emitting operation of a camera user before execution of focal point control can be shortened. |
