PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently grind a ferrule when making an optical connector into an extra fine ferrule, and also secure proper PC splicing. SOLUTION: In the optical connector comprising an optical fiber code, a ferrule 1 fixed to one end part of an optical fiber 2 in the fiber code, a plug frame for encapsulating and supporting the one end part of the fiber code and the ferrule, and an elastic member which is encapsulated in the plug frame and urges the ferrule in the direction of the connection with one side end part made to abut on the flange of the ferrule, a tapered part is formed, which makes the effective pedestal diameter of the connecting side end part of the ferrule 1 toψ0.15 to 0.40mm, and also the flange 6 of the ferrule 1 is formed so as to be movably adjustable in the direction of the direction to adjust the energizing force of the elastic member 5.
