METHOD OF EXAMINING PYROGENICITY OF MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively examine pyrogenicities of materials over a wide range. SOLUTION: The material is brought into contact with blood to detect generation and isolation of an endogenous pyrogen. A component for delaying or restraining coagulation of blood, and a diluent including a culture medium or a physiological saline may be used jointly. Interleukin-1, interleukin-6, a tumor necrosis factor or prostaglandin E2can be used as the endogenous pyrogen. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
