PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a rubber coating layer by the peripheral part and outer part of a cylinder hole. SOLUTION: In a metal gasket for a cylinder head, which is made of a metallic plate and includes at least one base plate 2 in which a rubber coating layer is laid on at least the outward surface, at least one base plate includes: a cylinder hole peripheral part 2e having an annular bead 2b; and an outward part 2f having an outer peripheral bead 2d outside of the cylinder hole peripheral part 2e and formed separately from the cylinder hole peripheral part 2e, a rubber coating layer 2g laid on the surface of the metallic plate of the cylinder hole peripheral part 2e and a rubber coating layer 2h laid on the surface of the metallic plate of the outward part 2f are different, and the cylinder hole peripheral part 2e and the outward part 2f are connected to each other by a connecting means 5 in a position corresponding to the cooling water jacket.
