PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing controller of an internal combustion engine not requiring an angle sensor for detecting a crank angle and a special pickup coil. SOLUTION: This ignition timing controller comprises a digitally controlled capacitor discharge type charge coil 21 wrapped around a core 5 and generating at least two signal waveforms 11 and 13 by one rotation of a flywheel 3. These two signal waveforms 11 and 13 are generated at intervals of within 180°for each 360°rotation of the flywheel 3 before and after a voltage waveform 12 for charging capacitor. The crank angle is obtained by comparing a value obtained by multiplying a factor a by an initial signal waveform time with a next signal wave time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
