PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trouble shooting device which can more accurately perform the failure judgment of a temperature sensor attached to an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: It is immediately determined that the temperature sensor is out of order (S35, S36, S38, S40) when judgment execution conditions are satisfied, the maximum temperature difference DTWMAX measured during a determination period TPDET is less than a failure judgment threshold value DTWTH, and when the start at the last cycle of the operation of the internal combustion engine is a cold start.
