摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly converge an air-fuel ratio immediately after starting an engine to a stoichiometric condition while suppressing deterioration of drivability. SOLUTION: The air-fuel ratio is enriched immediately after an engine is started by setting a target air-fuel ratio correction coefficient TFBYA, and the TFBYA is gradually reduced with the lapse of time. Upon detection of activation of the O<SB>2</SB>sensor (activation judgment), when output from an O<SB>2</SB>sensor is within a rich area (VO<SB>2</SB>>VO<SB>SL1</SB>), an increase amount (KAS) by the TFBYA is cut (first control), and air-fuel ratio feed back control is started. When the output from an O<SB>2</SB>sensor is within a stoichiometric range (VO<SB>SL1</SB>≥VO<SB>2</SB>≥VO<SB>SL2</SB>), the TFBYA is continuously reduced with the lapse of time (second control), and the air-fuel ratio feedback control is started when the increase amount becomes zero.
