PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent that is wiped off by removal only by wiping and controls irritation development by a detergent residue. SOLUTION: This detergent is a detergent for the skin and comprises (1) 20-40 mass% of a polyglycerol fatty acid ester and (2) 0.1-5 mass% of a polyether modified dimethylpolysiloxane. The polyglycerol fatty acid ester preferably contains two kinds of polyglycerol fatty acid esters. Glycerol octamers or dodecamers are preferable as the polyglycerol parts constituting the polyglycerol fatty acid esters and the glycerol fatty acid esters preferably contain each 8-13 hydroxy groups.
