PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic which has the reduced contents of alkaline earth metals such as calcium, can improve the softness of hair after dried, can improve the damages of hair damaged by a chemical treatment such as a hair-coloring treatment or by the heat of a drier or the like, and can impart a smooth touch. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic is characterized by containing anα-hydroxy acid compound and a gallic acid compound, and having a pH 2 to 4. The hair cosmetic can improve the softness of hair after dried, can improve the damages of hair damaged by a chemical treatment such as a hair-coloring treatment or by the heat of a drier or the like, and can impart a smooth touch.
