PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate the most appropriate braking pressure of a wheel cylinder changing in line with a change in a master cylinder (M/C) pressure based on braking operation by the intervention of brake assist (BA) without being affected by a change in the M/C cylinder pressure generated independently of the braking operation, and to exert initial assisting effect stably without giving a sense of incongruity to a driver. SOLUTION: The M/C pressure of a braking mechanism is increased to a reference set pressure for starting the BA intervention by the braking operation. When the braking pressure of the wheel cylinder is increased from the M/C pressure to a pressure obtained by adding the assisting pressure by the BA intervention, a subsequent change in the M/C pressure by the braking operation is estimated and calculated as a change in the predicted cylinder pressure from a change in the M/C pressure before the pressurization to the set pressure. Furthermore, the assisting pressure is predicted and controlled so that the braking pressure of the wheel cylinder becomes a target pressure obtained by adding a reference pressure of predetermined deceleration to the predicted cylinder pressure.
