PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a woody building material capable of effectively reducing the diffusion amount of formaldehyde from the woody building material without altering the component or amount of a crosslinking agent in an adhesive. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the woody building material for successively laminating a woody substrate, the adhesive and a decorative layer to bond them under heating and pressure by a press, an air permeable layer is provided between the top panel of the press and the decorative layer to perform thermal press-bonding.
