PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a dynamic pressure fluid bearing motor having a floating booster and enabling the precise control of a floated amount by reducing sliding wear by enabling the rapid floating from a low speed rotation. SOLUTION: A radial bearing is formed in a floating booster in which a lubricating fluid is force-fed to a shaft end part through an unbalanced herringbone groove and most of a load capacity supporting a rotating part is generated in association with an orifice in a circulation passage. Since a radial clearance is small and easily controlled, energy efficiency is high and power is high and, therefore, a precise floated amount control is enabled in association with the spiral groove equal in size to an approximately small shaft diameter. The flow velocity of the lubricating fluid can be set to the minimum, and accordingly, the possibility of leakage of the lubricating fluid can be reduced to reduce shaft damage. As a result, a thin and low power consuming magnetic disk device can be provided by using the dynamic pressure fluid bearing motor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
