<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB-compatible composite facsimile machine in which a device driver of requisite minimum is selected to be used in a host computer depending on the use condition of a user. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a composite function selecting/setting means for selecting/setting a function of an executable peripheral device, a USB controller for transmitting/receiving the signal from a host computer according to a prescribed communication protocol, and a control means for overwriting the attribute information included in the descriptor to be sent back to the host computer according to the selecting/setting operation of the composite function selecting/setting means when the USB controller receives a device request from the host computer according to the prescribed USB protocol. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
