<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sum up and order a foodstuff in a unified general name even when the foodstuffs are ordered by different names for respective chefs in a foodstuff managing system with which the foodstuffs used in restaurants can collectively be supplied and managed in a facility having a plurality of restaurants different in types such as Japanese, Chinese, French and Italian like a large scale hotel. <P>SOLUTION: Terminal computers 3, 4 and 5 of a plurality of restaurants A, B and C are connected to the managing computer 2 of a managing center 1 through a communication network 6. Order data of the foodstuffs inputted from the terminal computers 3, 4 and 5 of the restaurants A, B and C are summed up in the managing computer 2, and orders are placed to food suppliers 7, 8 and 9. The managing computer 2 holds foodstuff list data in which ordering names are given for the respective foodstuffs. In the foodstuffs having a plurality of names, names except for the ordering name are kept in foodstuff list data in accordance with the ordering name.
