<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently collect (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid from a (meth)acrolein- or (meth)acrylic acid-containing gas while preventing their polymerization. <P>SOLUTION: A reaction gas (1) containing (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid obtained by gas phase catalytic oxidation reaction is brought into contact with an aqueous solution as a collecting solvent in a collection column body (2) to collect (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid in the aqueous solution.
