PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of minimizing displacement of a neutral position when stopping a system. SOLUTION: This steering device comprises a front wheel steering actuator 7 installed between a steering wheel 1 and front wheels 4, 4, and changing a steering gear ratio according to a target steering angle. When failure is judged and self-steering is generated in an end increase direction of the front wheels 4, 4, a four-wheel active steering controller 10 stops the steering actuator after a system stop allowable time has elapsed.
