PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor enabling the effective reduction in noise and vibration by improving the noise reduction structure of a suction muffler. SOLUTION: The suction muffler 50 of this hermetic compressor comprises a case 51 in which a resonance chamber 52 is formed, a suction part 53 having a suction port 54 for sucking a refrigerant, and a refrigerant guide tube 56 communicating with a compression part. The suction port 54 is installed apart from the suction pipe, and the refrigerant guide tube 56 comprises an expanded tube part 57 with an enlarged diameter at an inlet side end for flowing the refrigerant therein.
