PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a color image forming device that performs color matching in which line-by-line subsidiary scanning misregistration is prevented. SOLUTION: The color image forming device is structured so as to transfer images on an intermediate transfer body to a transfer paper after sequentially transferring images of all colors formed on the photosensitive body to the intermediate transfer body and has a writing control section 44 to control a light source corresponding to image formation for each color, an image signal processing section 42 to input an image signal to the writing control section, an optical sensor for sensing a synchronous sensing signal to be the reference of a writing position in the main scanning direction of a writing optical system 1. The device has two or more counters for each color to control the delay timing until the transfer request of an image signal to the image signal processing section 42 from the writing control section 44, starting from the timing of not detecting synchronous sensing signals of all colors after a system operation start signal generated from the paper feed timing of the transfer paper is detected, and controls the counters by the main scanning synchronous signal on the basis of the synchronous sensing signal.
