PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dermatological or cosmetological composition preventing hair loss. SOLUTION: Use of at least one ecdysteroid, at least one ecdysteroid homolog or at least one ecdysteroid derivative for preparing cosmetic or dermatological compositions intended to prevent hair loss is provided. The ecdysteroids possibly promote in vitro remaining of human hair follicle and then, first, stimulate no dividing activity of human hair follicle matrix cells, second, stimulate no program of dividing outer envelopes and inner envelopes of the hair follicle and, simultaneously on the other hand, surely leave hair shaft without injury.
