PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant resin composition and to provide a molded article which cause no elution of a heavy metal compound and no generation of a harmful gas, and correspond to an environmental problem. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition is obtained by adding (e) an organic peroxide, (f) a (meth)acrylate series and/or an ary series crosslinking auxiliary, and a metallic hydrate (B) to a thermoplastic resin component (A) comprising (b) a hydrogenated random copolymer comprising an aromatic vinyl compound and a conjugated diene compound as principal components, (c) a polypropylene resin, and according to demand, at least one of a resin selected from among (a1) to (a3) of (a1) an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer, (a2) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer, or an ethylene-(meth)acrylate copolymer, and (a3) an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber, and (d) a modified resin by an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative and (meth)acrylic acid or its derivative, and then partially crosslinking the composition.
