PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement rotary compressor capable of preventing a locking pin from being loosened off a connection hole by vibration generating during the operation. SOLUTION: This rotary compressor comprises upper and lower compression chambers with different inner volumes, a rotating shaft, upper and lower eccentric cams eccentrically disposed on the rotating shaft in a same direction, upper and lower eccentric bushes disposed on the outer peripheral surfaces of the upper and lower eccentric cams so that the maximum eccentric parts are opposed to each other and having slots formed therebetween, and the locking pin selectively switching the upper and lower eccentric bushes to the maximum eccentric rotating position. Since the locking pin has a diameter larger by approximately 0.02 to 0.06 mm than the diameter of the connection hole, it is connected to the connection hole by press-fitting. The connection hole and the locking pin are so formed that thread parts and non-thread parts are formed thereon. Thus, it can be suppressed that the locking pin is loosened off the connection hole by the vibration transmitted to the locking pin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
