PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that in recording of an optical disk, when off-track cannot be detected during recording, recording is performed for a track being adjacent to a track to be recorded originally, and also, in DRAW recording processing or the like, a useless unrecorded region and an overwriting region are caused. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with an optical head 102 performing recording or reading of a recorded signal to/from an optical disk 101, a position information acquisition part 107 detecting acquired position information indicating a present position obtained from the optical disk 101, an expected position information generating part 106 generating second position information in which acquisition is expected after finish of recording, and an off-track discrimination part 109 in which the acquired position information is compared with the expected position information and it is decided whether off-track is caused in recording or not on the basis of the compared results in a reproduction state after finish of the recording, and in the off-track discriminating part 109, a present physical address is compared with an expected address expected after finish of recording.
