INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER BODY, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer body having satisfactorily improved uniformity of resistance, by regulating the amount of impurities included in carbon black in an intermediate transfer apparatus of an image forming apparatus, a method for manufacturing the intermediate transfer body, and an image forming apparatus having improved image quality. SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer body in an intermediate transfer apparatus has a layer formed from a film-forming liquid containing carbon black, a water-soluble resin having 3,000 to 30,000 weight average molecular weight, and a binder and having the content ratio of the carbon black to the water-soluble resin in the range of 3:1 to 10:1 by weight. The carbon black has≤0.5% S content,≤1,000 ppm total content of elements of Na, K, Mg, Ca, Si and Cl,≤50 ppm total content of elements of Fe, Cu, As, Cd, Hg, Pb and Cr+6,≤100 ppm SO4-concentration,≤10 ppm Cl-concentration, and≤10 ppm nitrate ion concentration.
