PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm capable of demonstrating excellent pressure resistance by effectively preventing occurrence of exfoliation of rubber and base cloth even if the diaphragm including base cloth is used under a relatively high pressure condition such as a vehicular fuel cell. SOLUTION: In the diaphragm 1 including a rubber like elastic material diaphragm main body 2 having an outer circumference flange part 4 for attaching the diaphragm 1 on housings 11, 12 formed as one body on an outer circumference of a film part 3 deforming with following applied pressure and having the base cloth 5 for reinforcement embedded in the diaphragm main body 2, a film like expansion part 7 is formed on an outer circumference side of the outer circumference flange part 4 of the diaphragm main body 2 as one body. The base cloth 5 is expanded and embedded in the expansion part 7. The expansion part 7 is gripped and supported together with the outer circumference flange part 4 by the housings 11, 12.
