GUIDING DEVICE FOR CURTAIN AIR BAG, AND CURTAIN AIR BAG DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain air bag device and a guide unit therefor, capable of smoothly inserting a link strap connecting a curtain air bag and a guiding member between a side edge of a pillar garnish and a vehicle body at the time of development of the curtain air bag, and allowing quick deployment of the curtain air bag.

SOLUTION: When an inflator 3 is actuated, the curtain air bag 1 is deployed downward along an interior surface of the pillar garnish 8. The rear part of the deploying curtain air bag 1 is guided by a guide rod 5 through the link strap 7. The link strap 7 is moved downward along the guide rod 5 with starting of the deployment of the curtain air bag 1. At that time, the link strap 7 is guided by the guiding member 9 to be inserted between the pillar garnish 8 and a weather strip.
