<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain air bag device suppressing warpage of a lower side rear portion of a curtain air bag at the time of deployment of the curtain air bag. <P>SOLUTION: When the inflator 3 is actuated, the curtain air bag 1 is deployed downward. When gas is induced to a bag-shaped chamber 39 at a lower side rear portion of the curtain air bag 1, since the bag-shaped chamber 39 has a dead end, inner pressure thereof is rapidly increased, and the bag-shaped chamber 39 formes an expansion chamber with high stiffness extending along the lower side of the curtain air bag 1. Therefore, the warpage to a vehicle interior side or an opposite side of the lower side rear portion of the curtain air bag is suppressed. An ear portion 1A is positioned at an upper side rearmost portion of the curtain air bag 1. An area of a curtain air bag rear edge part bulging outward from the ear portion 1A is extremely small.
