<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film which, when used as a liquid crystal component part such as a liquid crystal polarizing plate and a retardation plate or as a PDP component part, is less in scratches on the film surface and surface defects of oligomers and the like and shows good transparency, good optical performances and superior adhesion. <P>SOLUTION: The highly transparent polyester film for optical use less in the surface defects is a film which is obtained by providing at least one face of a biaxially oriented polyester film formed by use of a simultaneous biaxial orientation apparatus with a coating layer and which is characterized in that its film haze is≤2.0% and the total amount of the oligomers of the front and reverse faces of the film is≤15 mg/m<SP>2</SP>when the film is heat treated at 180°C for 10 min. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
