摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device of a vehicle, for reducing a required residual quantity of storage electricity required for engine start by an engine starting system. <P>SOLUTION: In the engine start by a motor generator MG using a battery 70 as a power source, since an automatic transmission 16 is made to be in neutral by an engine rotational resistance control means 102 and engine rotational resistance is reduced if a battery capacity SOC is lower than a predetermined battery capacity SOC<SB>PRE</SB>, rotating torque for the engine start by the motor generator MG is reduced so that the battery capacity SOC required for the engine start can be reduced compared with a case where the engine 10 can transmit power to driving wheels.
