PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an axial length of a transmission part in layout, in a multistage shift planetary gear train of forward six to eight stages. SOLUTION: This multistage shift planetary gear train has a first output shaft 12 and a second output shaft 13 mounted in parallel with an input shaft 10, a first planetary gear set 22 mounted coaxially with the first output shaft 12, and a second planetary gear set 24 mounted coaxially with the second output shaft 14. The input shaft 10 and a first input member 32 are connectable with each other through a pair of first input gears 10a, 26, and the input shaft 10 and a second input member 48 are connectable with each other through a pair of second input gears 10a, 28, the first output shaft 12 is connected with a first output member 38, a second output shaft 14 is connected with a second output member 42, a first reaction member 30 and a second reaction member 40 are connected through a chain 52, and the first reaction member 30 is fixable, and connectable with the input shaft 10 through the pair of first input gears 10a, 26, and can fix the second input member.
