PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device, suitably positioning a bearing or the like on a shaft. SOLUTION: Since a block-like cotter 3 is engaged deeply with a peripheral groove 1a, even if a strong axial force is applied between a ball bearing 2 and a screw shaft 1, it can be surely received as far as the parts 3a, 3b are not slipped off. On the other hand, a fixing member 4 can inhibit slip-off of the parts by surrounding the parts 3a, 3b of the cotter 3 with the body 4a, so that the axial force applied between the ball bearing 2 and the screw shaft 2 can be stably received. A contact part 4c abuts on the outer peripheral surface of the screw shaft 1 to generate the frictional force, and the fixing member 4 moves in the axial direction to prevent the parts 3a, 3b of the cotter 3 from slipping off.
