PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by simplifying a device configuration by using elements of proper rating by properly controlling power supply to a starter motor in a troubled state in an engine start control device. SOLUTION: In this engine start control device 200, an engine state detection part 143 detects from the output signals of a crank angle sensor 141 whether an engine 200 transfers into a cranking state or not. If the engine does not transfer into the cranking state despite the fact that the power supply to the starter motor is started, the micro computer 126 of an information providing system 1123 detects it and determines that any trouble occurs in a starter 135, and controls a load switching part 128 to stop the power supply from a battery 132 to the starter 135. Even if the starter is troubled, a state in which current flows continuously for a long period can be avoided, and the maximum rated current which may flow in electronic elements can be reduced.
