PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine and a method which enable the thin and uniform supply of a powder-like material to the whole concave surface of a mold. SOLUTION: The compression-molding method of molding a molded article 14 by inserting a core 3 protrusively mounted on an upper mold 2 into a concave portion 9 of a lower mold 8 to compress a raw material 7 comprises; advancing a raw material box 5 between the upper mold 2 and the lower mold 8, both being opened, making the upper mold 2 approach the lower mold 8, contacting the core cavity surface 4 of the upper mold 2 with the raw material 7 to make the raw material 7 adhere to the cavity surface 4, separating the upper mold 2 from the lower mold 8, retreating the raw material box 5 from the space between the upper mold 2 and the lower mold 8, and then making the upper mold 2 approach the lower mold 8 for insertion to compression-mold the raw material 7.
