PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve a sense of incompatibility such that an anti-skid control device is actuated prematurely and also an occurrence that a premature anti-skid control makes it impossible to obtain a deceleration otherwise possible to be generated maximally. SOLUTION: The brake device of semi-brake by-wire type is structured so that the rear wheel braking force Fr rises along the before-setting rear wheel braking force distribution lineβalong with the increase of the front wheel braking force Ff during the period the front wheel braking force margin obtained by subtracting the front wheel braking force Ff from its maximum value Ff_max is equal to or more than the specified value C (in the range where the front wheel braking force is smaller than at the h-point) while the front wheel braking force Ff by the master cylinder liquid pressure is incremental. In the region where Ff is larger than the h-point equivalent, Fr is corrected incrementally with the increase of Ff so as to lie alongside the corrective distribution lineεorηhaving a steeper gradient thanβ. According to the conventional technique, a lock is generated in the front wheels and the anti-skid control is conducted when the deceleration G2 or G3 is generated owing to combination of the front wheel Ff and the rear wheel braking force Fr at the intersection i or b ofεorηwith the front wheel lock limit lineϒand also a slip is generated in the front wheels and the anti-skid control is conducted when the deceleration G1 is generated at the intersection a betweenβandϒ, but according to the invention, this can be retarded to the time when the larger deceleration G2 or G3 is generated.
