A distributer for an axial flow hydraulic turbine has adjustable guide vanes mounted in bearings in the inner and outer plates of the distributer wherein the bearings in the outer plate are each located in a centering bore communicating with an aperture extending upstream in the plate, the aperture being normally closed by a removable element and having dimensions such that the full chordwise width of the vane can pass between the upstream end of the aperture and the side of the centering bore opposite the aperture. The guide vanes 4 of an axial flow hydraulic turbine are mounted in bearings 6, 8 in the inner and outer plates 1, 2 respectively of the distributer. A lever 9 is connected by link 12 to a control ring 13. Bearing 8 is mounted in the outer plate 2 by cylindrical surfaces 8a, b, c locating in corresponding centering bores 2a, b, c. An aperture 14 in the plate 2 opens into the centering bores and locates a member 19 profiled to conform to the shape of plate 2. Cylindrical segments 19a, b, c correspond to the bores 2a, b, c and the member 19 is fixed to the plate 2 by pins (not shown). On the downstream side of the vane is a recess 20 having a width equal to the maximum thickness of the vane 4 and normally covered by a curved plate 21. The vane 4 is removed by bringing it to its position of maximum opening, uncoupling lever 9, removing bearings 6 and 8 and the member 19 in succession, lowering the vane on to the bottom of recess 20 and then tilting the vane gradually. |
