PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and the cost of a high-voltage power supply device applied to an image forming device of an electrophotographic system and a neon-advertising display.

SOLUTION: The high-voltage power supply device includes, at least a high-voltage transformer 3 and a drive circuit 4 that drives the high-voltage transformer 3. A high-voltage switching circuit 50 that switches the polarities of a DC output voltage generated on the secondary side of the high-voltage transformer 3; and a control circuit 60 that switchingly controls the high-voltage switch circuit 50, on the basis of a load current that flows by the application of the DC output voltage, are added to a high-voltage power supply that supplies voltage to a load connected to the secondary side of the high-voltage transformer 3.
