<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attribute information retrieval system which is capable of controlling the acquisition of attribute information different by users in accordance with the ID tag of an acquiring person and capable of easily performing access control to the attribute information. <P>SOLUTION: ID information specifying an article (unillustrated) is written in a RF ID tag (#1) 2A, and ID information specifying an acquiring person who acquires the attribute information of the article is written in a RF ID tag (#2) 2B. A reader 11 of an information retrieval server 1 reads the IDs from RF ID tags (#1 and #2) 2A and 2B, and an information retrieval means 12 acquires addresses of attribute DBs (#1 to #3) 4A, 4B, and 4C from a name solution server 3 on the basis of the read IDs and acquires attribute information from the attribute DBs (#1 to #3) 4A, 4B, and 4C on the basis of the addresses.
