<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection film which has a satisfactory antireflection property and a visuality enhancing performance of display, at the same time, has an improved resistance to scuffing and, further, has an excellent productivity, and to provide a polarizing plate and a picture display device using the antireflection film. <P>SOLUTION: In the antireflection film, at least one light scattering layer is disposed on a transparent substrate and, further thereon, at least one or more thin film layer formed by supplying reactive gas under application of high frequency voltage nearly at the atmospheric pressure is disposed. In the polarizing plate, the antireflection film is used for one or the other of two sheets of protective films of a polarizer therein.
