<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick connector having sufficient strength regardless of an engagement slit in which the engagement arm of a wire retainer greatly projects inward at the other side in the axial direction of a connector housing. <P>SOLUTION: A first quick connector 1 comprises a connector housing 3 and a wire retainer 5. Engagement slits 23, 23 are provided at a retainer mounting section 15 of the connector housing 3, and the wire retainer 5 is mounted to the retainer mounting section 15 so that an engagement arm 49 enters the engagement slit 23 and projects into the retainer mounting section 15.
