PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a laid surface-mounting aluminum electrolytic capacitor that confirming a soldering filet is difficult and a floating failure happens upon mounting the capacitor on a board, in order to provide the surface-mounting aluminum electrolytic capacitor that is highly reliable in mounting and can be manufactured inexpensively. SOLUTION: The aluminum electrolytic capacitor 1 is held in a laid position with an outer packaging member 6, and lead wires 2 which are lead out of the capacitor 1, are bent in a stepped manner along the outer packaging member 6, and are extended over the extension of the mounting surface of the outer packaging member 6. The outer packaging member 6 has a section of a U shape, and holds the peripheral surface of the electrolytic capacitor 1 on the inner surface of the outer packaging member 6, and has a wall 6a that is in contact with almost the half of the face of the capacitor 1 that is at the side of a sealing member 5. The lead wires 2 are bent along the outer surface of the wall 6a. Hence, the aluminum electrolytic capacitor 1 having the above structure facilitates the confirmation of the soldering filet, eliminates a floating failure to improve reliability in mounting, and is manufactured inexpensively.
