PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balance board and a method for controlling the same capable of keeping a balance by a relatively simple operation. SOLUTION: The balance board 10 is provided with a stand 11 with which the soles of a human body are brought into contact and for supporting the body in an approximately vertical direction toward the ground and a pair of support members 13 disposed in an approximately center part of the stand 11 in a longitudinal direction, apart from each other by a specified distance D and widthways to the stand 11.
