Ultrasonic system for demolding plastic miniature or micro components from a molding tool has tool insert with molding cavity mounted on ultrasonic unit which moves tool inserts into demolding position

A tool insert(2) with molding cavity(1) is mounted in a tool plate(3). Insert shape and length are adapted to the resonance conditions of the ultrasonic vibration system. Inserts are mounted on the sonic horn(6), a booster(5) or an ultrasonic converter(4) in the plane of vibration amplitude(A). Each insert has a broad head(8) with an angled undercut and a narrower shaft(7) guided through a bore in a tool plate. A feed unit moves the ultrasonic system and tool inserts into a demolding position. Tool inserts(2) are rotationally symmetric with a plate-shaped head(8) having an angled undercut and a smaller diameter cylindrical shaft(7). For centering a tool insert each bore in the tool plate has a conical depression at the parting plane corresponding to the undercut, angled head shape or inserts(13) are located inside the bore and the conical depression is in the centering insert. Tool inserts are screwed onto the sonic horn(6). One or more ultrasonic vibration systems are arranged in the tool to excite tool inserts in the tool or two or more tool inserts are arranged on an ultrasonic vibration system. Ultrasonic systems may be located in either the ejector or nozzle side plate depending on tool design. The feed unit comprises a supporting plate(14;15) guided by pins(17) and bushes(16) and moving with a clamping plate(18) to move the ultrasonic system for demolding. The ultrasonic system(4,5,6) is guided through a bore(19) in the clamping plate(18) and is connected via clamping rings to the supporting plate(15) close to the vibration node plane of the booster(5).
