GUIDING DEVICE FOR CURTAIN AIR BAG DEVICE, AND CURTAIN AIR BAG DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain air bag device and a guide unit for the curtain air bag device which allow quick deployment of the curtain air bag.

SOLUTION: When an inflator 3 is actuated, the curtain air bag 1 is deployed downward along a vehicle interior surface of a pillar garnish 8. The rear portion of the deploying curtain air bag 1 is guided by a guide rod 5 through a link strap 7 and a metallic ring 11. The ring 11 is held on an upper part of the guide rod 5 through a synthetic resinous holder 20. When the link strap 7 starts moving downward, the ring 11 is separated from the holder 20 and moved along the guide rod 5.
