ELECTRONIC APPLIANCE, UNIT DRIVING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INTERFACE OF UNIT DRIVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic appliance capable of appropriately controlling the interface of a unit driving device driving a removably mounted expansion unit.

SOLUTION: A device detection section 151 of a USBSD (Universal Serial Bus Secure Digital) card reader 15 monitors a device insertion detection signal line and determines the presence of the mounting of an SD card device 17 on an SD card slot 16 and informs a USB interface control section 152 of its determination results. The USB interface control section 152 fixes a USB interface control signal line connected to a D+signal line for a USB interface to Low so as to invalidate the USB interface between the SD card device 17 and an SB 14 in mounting no SD card device 17. Meanwhile, the USB interface control signal line is released to an Hi-z state so as to decide the validation/invalidation of the USB interface by control at the SB 14 side in mounting the SD card device 17.
